Preventative Care

Prevention begins with the control of plaque and calculus, the main cause of decay and periodontal disease. In fact, the major cause of tooth loss in adults is periodontal disease, which is known as the silent killer of teeth because most patients feel no symptoms until it’s too late. With regular dental visits, we can detect and treat any dental issues before they get out of hand.

Children’s Dentistry

We suggest scheduling your child’s first dental appointment between eighteen months and two years of age. At that age, we can begin to monitor the growth and development of their teeth and mouth. We try to make their visit as fun and comfortable as possible.

We also take the time to instruct parents and children on proper brushing and flossing techniques so they can enjoy good oral health for a lifetime.

Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal (gum) disease is very common and the most frequent cause of tooth loss in adults. It is also preventable and easily treated and reversed when caught early.

The leading cause of gum disease is the build-up of plaque on your teeth. With regular cleanings, we can remove the tartar build-up before it causes gum irritation and disease. We treat the early stages of periodontal disease in our office but may refer you to a specialist for more advanced cases.

Bruxism Therapy

If you clench or grind your teeth (commonly referred as bruxism), we can fabricate a custom mouth guard to protect your teeth. As you clench or grind, you are putting extreme pressure on your teeth, which can cause cracks or breaks in teeth or worn down teeth. A custom guard corrects your bite and protects your teeth from possible damage.

TMJ Therapy

Do you suffer from chronic headaches, a stiff or painful jaw, or neck and facial pain? You may be suffering from TMD (Temporo-Mandibular Disorder). While this is a treatable TMJ disorder, it’s important to have it diagnosed and treated as soon as possible to prevent more severe symptoms. We are dedicated to helping you find answers and relief.

Dental Implants

Dental Implants can replace single teeth or multiple teeth and blend seamlessly with your natural teeth to recreate your beautiful smile. A dental implant is a titanium tooth root that takes the place of a natural tooth root. The titanium tooth root is surgically implanted in your jawbone, and a crown restoration is placed on top of the implant to create a strong, beautiful tooth.

When you are missing teeth, the bone can weaken, and the jaw can recede. Dental implants keep your jaw strong and youthful-looking.

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are used to prevent tooth decay in children. They are applied to teeth, especially molars with large crevices where bacteria can accumulate and cause cavities. The sealant fills in the crevices, forming a barrier to protect the tooth surface. With regular exams and cleanings, fluoride, a healthy diet, and good at-home dental care, cavities can be greatly reduced or prevented.

Dentures

Full dentures can replace a full set of missing teeth and restore your smile. When missing teeth are not replaced, your facial muscles are not supported and will begin to sag, making you look much older. Dentures provide support for your facial muscles and make it easier to eat, speak, and smile.

If you are missing some but not all of your teeth, a partial denture can be used to replace the natural missing teeth. Removable partial dentures usually consist of replacement teeth attached to pink or gum-colored plastic bases, which are connected by metal framework.

Endodontics

Endodontics encompasses diseases of the tissue, blood vessels, and nerves inside the tooth. The most common endodontic treatment is a root canal, a procedure used to remove infected tissue and refill the nerve canal inside the tooth. During a root canal, the pulp and root are removed and the tooth is cleaned and sealed. It effectively removes the infection while allowing the tooth to maintain its natural strength.

Mouth Guards

Mouth guards are often used to protect children’s teeth from injury due to teeth grinding and during sports. We design a custom-fitted guard that usually covers the upper teeth. However, if your child wears braces or another fixed dental appliance on his or her lower jaw, we may suggest a mouth protector for these teeth, too.
